        The short version: Nori is an AI companion — not a doctor, lawyer, or financial advisor. Be kind, don't abuse the service, and you'll have a great experience. Your data is yours.
    

1. Introduction and Agreement

Welcome to Nori, the AI companion service operated by Project Nobi ("Project Nobi", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using Nori through any of our platforms — including our Telegram bot, web application, mobile application, or API — you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use our service.

⚠️ 1A. Testnet Status and Disclaimer

Project Nobi and the Nori AI companion are currently in testnet phase (Bittensor SN272). This means:

The service is under active development and testing
Features may be added, changed, or removed without notice
Data (including memories and conversations) may be reset during testing
Service availability is not guaranteed
Performance and response quality may vary
The underlying infrastructure may change significantly before mainnet launch

By using Nori during the testnet phase, you acknowledge and accept that:

The service is provided "as-is" with no warranties of any kind
You use the service entirely at your own risk
We are not liable for any loss of data, service interruptions, or issues arising from testnet usage
Features demonstrated during testnet may not be available at mainnet launch
This is not a production-ready product

2. Service Description

2.1 What Nori Is

Nori is an AI companion service that provides:

Personalised conversational interactions powered by large language models
Long-term memory storage to maintain continuity across conversations
Text, voice, and image-based interactions
Proactive check-ins and reminders (when opted in)
Multi-platform access (Telegram, web, mobile, API)

2.2 What Nori Is NOT

Nori is an AI companion, not a professional service provider. Nori is NOT a medical service, legal service, financial service, or substitute for professional mental health care. Nori does not give financial, investment, tax, legal, medical, or any other professional advice. All of Nori's opinions and information are for general reference only — not professional advice. Always consult qualified professionals for important decisions. See Section 5.1 for the full Professional Advice Disclaimer.

In an emergency, call emergency services immediately (999 in the UK, 112 in the EU, 911 in the US). For mental health crises, contact the Samaritans at 116 123 (UK) or the Crisis Text Line (text HOME to 741741 in the US).

3. Eligibility and Account Creation

3.1 Age Requirements

United States: You must be at least 18 years of age.
European Union / EEA: You must be at least 18 years of age (GDPR compliance).
All other jurisdictions: The minimum age of digital consent in your country, or 18 years, whichever is greater.

3.2 Account Responsibility

Provide accurate, current, and complete information
Maintain the security of your account credentials
Promptly notify us of any unauthorised access
Accept responsibility for all activity that occurs under your account

4. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use Nori to:

Engage in illegal activities or plan harm to others
Harass, abuse, threaten, or stalk others
Generate, distribute, or seek child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — this is strictly prohibited and will be reported to authorities
Generate instructions for weapons or mass harm
Circumvent or "jailbreak" Nori's safety measures
Operate automated bots or scrapers without written authorisation
Impersonate other individuals, organisations, or AI systems
Spread deliberate misinformation
Infringe intellectual property rights

5. AI Limitations and Disclaimers

Nori is an AI — it can make mistakes. Nori may provide inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated information, and may "hallucinate" plausible-sounding but fabricated content. Always verify important information independently. Nothing Nori says constitutes medical, legal, or financial advice.

5.1 Professional Advice Disclaimer

Nori is a personal AI companion for general conversation and information purposes only. Nothing Nori communicates constitutes:

Financial advice, investment recommendations, tax guidance, or regulated financial services
Legal advice, legal opinions, or legal representation
Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations
Mental health therapy or professional counselling
Any other advice requiring a licensed professional by law

All information and opinions shared by Nori are for general reference only and do not constitute professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional (financial advisor, lawyer, doctor, therapist, etc.) for matters specific to your situation.

By using Nori, you acknowledge that Nori's responses are not a substitute for professional advice and that Project Nobi accepts no liability for actions taken based on Nori's responses.

6. Intellectual Property

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of all content you submit to Nori. We use it only to provide the service to you. We do not use your personal conversations to train AI models without your explicit consent. We do not sell your content.

6.2 Our Platform

Project Nobi owns all rights to the Nori service, including its software, AI models, brand assets, and documentation. You may not copy, reverse-engineer, or create derivative works without our express written permission.

7. Pricing and Service Model

Free for all users: Nori is provided free of charge for individual users, funded by Bittensor network emissions and community support.
Paid enterprise or API services may be introduced in the future with clear advance notice.
Individual companion access is intended to remain free for as long as the network sustains it.

8. Data Handling and Privacy

Your privacy is core to how we built Nori. All conversation data is encrypted at rest using AES-128 encryption (server-side). Data in transit is protected by TLS 1.3. You own your data and can export or delete it at any time.

Honest disclosure: Miners on the Bittensor network process your conversation content during response generation. End-to-end TEE encryption (where miners cannot see plaintext) is code-complete and deploying to production.

Compliance architecture: All legal and compliance data (consent records, age verification, audit trail) is stored on Project Nobi's own infrastructure — never on miners. Your data rights (access, erasure, portability under GDPR) can always be fulfilled regardless of the decentralised network state. Project Nobi is the data controller.

9. Limitation of Liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Project Nobi's total liability to you shall not exceed the greater of: (a) amounts paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) £100 GBP. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Project Nobi and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, and expenses arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the service.

11. Dispute Resolution

11.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

11.2 Jurisdiction

Both parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. EU consumers may also bring proceedings in their country of residence.

11.3 Informal Resolution

Before formal proceedings, please contact us at legal@projectnobi.ai to attempt informal resolution within 30 days.

12. Termination

By you: Delete your account anytime from Settings. Data deleted within 30 days per our Privacy Policy.
By us: We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with at least 14 days' notice via email or in-app notification. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
